Woodwork with CNC

Hi! My name is Adriaan and I am from the Netherlands. In my spare time I'm an electronics enthousiast and I design and make woodwork objects. I own a self built CNC machine at my that I will demonstrate to you on this webblog

The last couple of years I got better at creating all kinds of objects with this machine, some of which I will show you in my blog.

Some of the best objects are the lamps that I will show you here. On instructables.com I have some entries that show you how to make those lamps.

See: https://www.instructables.com/id/Lamp-8/

I sell those lamps.
Making a lamp like this costs me a couple of days.
If you want to buy one, contact me at adriaan.f5.bakker@gmail.com to make me a fair offer.

However, I would like to encourage you to make those lamps yourself. After all, the satisfaction will be great if you succeed. I'm happy to give advise as how to make those parts. I will happily create some of the parts for you that you are not able to make yourself and send them to you at a fair price.

This blog has been started on the 1 july, 2017. I intend to enlighten you about how to build and use such a CNC lathing machine yourself soon, and about how to use it to get what you want out of it.

Lamp 3 Tribute to Mondriaan

As this is the year of the Dutch artist Mondriaan, a famous character in a time period called De Stijl,  I thought of a lamp that pays him tribute and resembles his paintings.

The latern in the middle and the colored windows are made out of liquid plastic. I will devote an instructable of how it has been made soon.

Dimensions about 45 cm x 45 cm x 14 cm

Lamp 2 Broadway lamp

Spectacular wooden lamp, based on elements of the Broadway shows. The centre latern is made out of liquid plastic and rice paper. The elements on the left and the right are the Japanese symbol of "hand".

The fins on the left and on the right make the design extra dynamic and add a 3D effect.

The lamp is supposed to depict a "Temple", with stairs going up to the temple. There are two wooden bows around the temple, increasing the 3D effect of the light.

Lamp is about 32cm x 65 cm x 12 cm

From the making of the lamp. Below, upper right corner of the first picture, you can see the mold for the half wooden balls. I will devote an instructable on how the latern has been made.

Lamp 1 Voronoi

Unique wooden lamp with delicate Voronoi pattern. Thin multiplex wood and rice paper. The LED lamp is dimmable.

Find out on Instructables how it has been made.
